I have a straight 1% rebate from my CU, no gimmicks or BS like the Discover Card (used to have one but didn't like their measly tiered scam). I also have a 2% towards car purchase on my citibank card, but you only get the last 3 years' worth (new program only gives 1%, but I apparently will keep on getting the 2% -- got 5% for a few years, that was sweet!). I did manage cash in a couple years' worth on my dad's car, though, so haven't had any expire yet. Still... do most of my purchases on the 1% rebate card.

My Bank One pays a straight 1% cash rebate on purchases in $25 increments.

I also have my cards registered with iDine which gives a 15% rebate at "participating restaurants". In Los Angeles this seems to be about 5% of the restaurants we eat at.

I'm grandfathered with no annual fee for iDine, but you can also get the no-fee option through Auto Clubs and other groups.

If you pay the annual fee you get a 20% discount instead of the 15% I receive. But I like things simple.

note also that you have to "sign up" for this...so discover drives you to their web site and will then use the opportunity to market their other fine "products" to you....Once I applied for a ZERO card over the web and they told me they could not complete the transaction. They said call them to clear it up. I discovered that they simply wanted a chance to talk to me face to face "capture me" if you will, to try and sell me credit protection, etc....it's out of CONTROL!
