twfowler and ted, I run pestpatrol and since then spybot finds no spyware any more. Pestpatrol accepts spy cookies, but deletes them right afterwards. Gottfried

I have run Adaware, Spybot, Hijack this and CW Shredder......to no avail. I have deleted thousands of files to no avail.

Another program to try is PestPatrol. You could also try installing "Startup Cop" which should tell you what programs run at start up and enable you do disable them from running and block them from adding themselves back in to startup.

Thanks. With Pestpatrol, you get an error message when you get to their download site. With Startup Cop, they make you subscribe to PC magazine. That's okay.......I now have 4 spyware/adware utilities. Most of the reserve space on my hard drive is gone now. <g>

Do you know of any power management software I can download for free? Either I deleted the old one by accident when I was trying to get rid of virtual bouncer, or its corrupted and not working.......and I don't remember from where I got it. Let me know. TIA.
