How do you then account for the fact that both Germany & Japan became the USA's strongest economic competitors by the 80s, only 35yrs after armistice? They adopted the American business model. If we merely squeezed benefits from them for ourselves, I doubt very much that they could rise from the ashes with such success. Their conquerors provided them with enough freedom to regain their footing and eventually become as strong, if not stronger than they were when they deliberately plummeted the world into catastrophic wars. All other former super powers kept the nations they conquered in chains. Why do you choose not to acknowledge that fact?

American corporations took out more money than we put in with the Marshall Plan. The Marshall Plan was a subsidy to American corporations by the American taxpayer.

What a horse's arse you are. We gave money to reconstruct nations. Of course, someone has to be hired to do the work. Is there anything wrong with hiring American? Are you claiming that money was given to Americans to do nothing? Of course not. Even someone as traitorous as you could not allege that.

The bottom line is that it was a gift to, and one graciously acknowledged by, our former enemies.

Only you would attack the US for this charitable work. No matter what the facts, you will find a way to bash this great nation.
