Congrats on the river front property up in the mountains M!

Will you adopt me? <gg>

"Ask yourself when you will get the chance to ever do it again?"

Exactly! You could have taken the words right out of my mouth.

I have always wanted to drive across the country. This trip
was a bit unexpected though (I'm doing a huge favor for my
nephew & my sister). Still, I am so glad I did it. This is
one great, wild, diverse, drab, beautiful, dull & exciting
country we have. It's one thing to read about it or watch
some documentary on TV, but there is nothing better than
traversing it by land first hand.

And I am going to try to do the train thing for my trip
home. I want to be able to spend all my time watching &
enjoying the scenery.

"and if you get up my way, be sure to let me know.......
we'll show you the town and spend some quality time
bashing dems. LOL"

FWIW, I may come close, but not close enough this time
around. One trip on Amtrak goes up to Portland for a short
layover, then on to Chicago, then Pittsburgh. I'm going to
try to drive a good portion of the Pacific Coast Highway
this week, another item on my things I've always wanted to
do list. We will head up to Yosemite Park this weekend.
That will likely be all I can squeeze in this trip to the
west coast.

I sure appreciate the offer though. I'd love to see the
Seattle area & it would be great to meet you & your
husband. Maybe on my next trip when I can bring my wife
along we'll all get together & do it up right?

Gotta go. My nephew wants to whip my butt at chess.
