Sometimes you make good sense, c2, even very good sense. But this is not one of those times. For beter or worse, the Dem party is perceived by voters as the party of three windbags I don't doubt that is the case in circles in which you travel. But I doubt "windbags" is the term of choice within the 40% of regular Dem voters. Perhaps within the 10% of rabid right wingers. As for the Reps appealing to racist elements in American society, I fail to understand why folk have a problem with that argument. Nixon stated it quite clearly; Bush II simply restated it, particularly, in the South Carolina portion of his campaign in 2000.
