We have a very interesting local example--Bobby Jindal.

Though he's not AA, he's very dark skinned. I'm sure he's been mistaken as black in his lifetime. However, he is welcomed with open arms into the GOP, and not because he can appeal to AA votes, but because he appeals to mainstream local voters and adds numbers to the GOP.

Plus, he is absolutely, positively one of the most intelligent persons I've ever met.
