And I would disagree...nations absorbing large amounts of casualties in military conflicts are those who usually dominate world affairs.... In WWI we came out of an isolationist stance but really couldn't dominate anyone yet. If you had said WWII, I might agree with you despited our relatively few casualties there. It's our arrogance after these conflicts that bothers me...... We seem to want to take the majority of the credit but only paid a small portion of the cost.

And you never tried to rationalize the demonization of France...
