"The debt of military buildup under Pres Reagan was an extremely wise investment which resulted in the peace dividend during Clinton's yrs."

1) The military build-up accounted for only a very SMALL PART of the tripling of the national debt.

2) But... if you want to focus on the small matters, I'd argue that most of the money spent on Star Wars (nothing deployed, no functional design arrived at during the Reagan 8 years), or on the Battleship refits (soon taken out of service again) were not terribly cost-effective.

"NATO itself provides logistical help for a Polish-led division there." Is Bush associating himself with a good old-fashioned joke?

Like the russians and gorbechev had nothing to do with it. It was Ronnie who signed the blank check.

Yeah, that's it that's the ticket.
