Ted, why not run pcpitstop's tests if you haven't already. A spyware test is included. pcpitstop.com

It won't do any harm.
There are others, but I haven't used them

I just got a suspicious "mail-bounce" e-mail message.

Supposedly it was from AOL having to do with an "RE:" message I never sent.

There was a file attachment that was named "ATT00058.dat". I didn't open it.

This may be some random error in the e-mail system or it may be a new delivery tactic.

Ted, a friend pm'd me re your problem and gave some advice and I'll paraphrase...

He says: ad-aware and spybot detect virtual bouncer, for sure
also, good AVs like NAV2004 detects virtual bouncer.

Are Adaware, Spybot, Hijack this and CW Shredder up-to-date? Please check for updates for each of them, run the tests again and post the logs here.

What is your AV program?

i think i had the same problem as you--i ran a free test of spy sweeper and it got rid of everything
