I think most of us just think Bush, like any well connected rich kid, used his family to get in the Guard ahead of others and avoid Vietnam, and then when flying jets got old, skipped out and used his family connections to fix it for him. After all, he'd already used his family to get into Yale with C's. He traded on his family name and connections for all his "businesses".
