Israel would have removed a threat to Israel if the Israeli intelligence had indicated such.

Taking out Saddam wasn't that difficult and at the time of the war few thought it would be difficult. Israel could have neutralized the threat if it were perceived as such...but they didn't...they are closer and they didn't act. Israel would have acted in self defense.

You still didn't answer the question. Did Israeli intelligence perceive Iraq as a WMD threat? requiring invasion?

You said "Do you really believe the Israelis would have allowed Saddam to exist" - as if Israel could have removed Saddam if it chose, as if Israel could have done what the US just sent 140,000 soldiers to do. That's total nonsense.

Of course Israel could have done it directly, but it's a lot easier to get someone else to fight your wars.

Remind me again what we get out of the Israeli alliance. What are they doing for us in our time of need?
