I remember Kennedy.

With Reagan, the neocons pioneered their tactic of putting a front man with a hair-do and single-minded subborness to create minor controversies but stay out of their way. They then did their mischief behind the scenes. In Reagan's day they looted the savings and loans with wild land deals. They tried the conquest of South America but failed. They tried much of the same stuff with Bush Jr. only the looting was through oil and the conquest was in Iraq.
