I believe you have placed Israel in the right company here Nadine, because they are all rogue states to varying degrees. Israel contends it does not have nukes and won't allow inspections of its facilities,nor sign onto the NPT. That tells me they are to be trusted no more than any other " rogue state ". When Israel decides to actually become part of the broader world community that it so envisions itself as , with its cries of being the " only democracy " in the ME, then, and only then, should the Western World grant them the honor of " Trusted Ally ". " For Israel to launch a nuke is like a bee stinging. The bee hurts its enemy, but commits suicide in the process. The advantage of the stinger is that when the enemy knows you have one, he's more likely to let you alone. "... " The US doesn't have to go that route as readily ,due to its formidable conventional weapons strength.So no,the US is much less of a threat. Sorry if this disturbs you, but I just look at things though a military lens at times, and can do so with clearer optics than those who may be emotionally attached, and possibly blinded by their own patriotism. But currently in the ME , Israel is the only stinger bee country. Your buddies, the Arabs, have called for a Nuke free ME. Isreal never responds....never. And so we have the imbalance of today,with those countries ,whatever you may think of them , in a dire situation and basically unable to defend themselves. This is often where things get ugly. Let's hope Israel comes to its senses , or at the very least , is pressured by its friends to do the right thing. It future may depend on it. KC
