Reagan was a professional actor who was comfortable with "the act". Bush is an amateur actor trying to play Reagan in his head. But things were different in 1982. Bush was handed a great economy. Reagan was handed a crummy one. We had the Cold War going in 1082. We have only terrorist cells to battle now, and invading countries won't wipe them out. Plus Bush just doesn't have the charisma reagan did. Reagan's gift was he could make even his opponents (and he had plenty of them) like him. Not Bush. Not at all. Most people just don't respect Bush much.
