Right, I got confused in my thinking. Still I got the concept of getting back to neutral right.

If I had just done some thinking, we use copper sulfate, I think, in this area when planting Oaks and Blueberries because they like an acid soil. Forest soil is acid from the tannic acid from the leaves.

Now if I remember right about the nitrogen, it's nho4 that is the useable form but when there is enough water and the soil gets to be anerobic the nho4 loses an o and becomes nho3 which plants can't use.

It got calm and quit raining so I drove the 3 miles to town for gas for the mower and Jeep. Barely sprinkling as I was getting the cans out and then it broke loose. 18 covered pumps and the rain was blowing through. The clerk said there was a tornado close to I74.

I74 .. my house ............... gas station. That's how they line up. Got home and the wife said it had stayed calm and dry. Tornado to the south, squall to the north and nothing in between.
