But the richest 2% got big tax breaks

Well Ronnie and Maggie weren't all wrong, just that they were a little blind where they were wrong...

A common problem in my neck of the woods.

btw I voted today, along with my wife and oldest daughter. It was a special event as the domestic arguments have intensified recently. We all voted differently, but none of us voted anything in the Tony Blair direction. We were agreed on that political point. I just mention this as a warning that Tony Blair seems to be NOT in anyones voting good books here right now. He seems spent to me at this moment. I maybe wrong though, lets see what happens.

Mike,
In all seriousness, I worked at the Mental Hospital here in town (part time) while I was in high school. From my observation, not only were the patients put on the street, but the even more crazy and dangerous employees were also let out. Bad news. I am not in favor of mentally ill on the streets but from my observation, the institutions that previously "served" them may have been worse. Don't know how you fix this problem...it goes much deeper than money.
