I've posted my economic ideas elsewhere (on SI, mostly on Mish's thread). There is evidence that the Bush tax cuts didn't help the economy, in fact they might have exacerbated the problem.

I think Bush's misdirected tax cuts and excessive spending have forced the Fed to hold interest rates at emergency levels for longer than desired. I am definitely not alone in opposing the tax cuts for these or similar reasons:
