I'm expecting ADI and TXN to do well over the next year ...
Intel I am thinking will (after the slow investment people figure it out) take a down turn. Since Intel is such a big component of the Semi Index I expect TXN and ADI or out strip the SOX

Intel has made several very big bets which have turned sour. One is Prescott which is leaking (charge through it's transistor walls) so bad that the speed is limited from the heat it generates (i.e. it's a better toaster then processor). This is partially due to problems with it's 90-nanometer process but mainly with due to the high clock speed. This is forcing them to change strategy from the one of marketing "clock speed" to a more AMD one (heading for multi-core). This of course killed Tejas (the next after Prescott) leaving them with out any real products in this area ... Intel marketing will still wrap these things in great hoopla but your next "Intel inside" will be noisy, hot and not that much faster. On the server front, Itanium (a dog in its own right) is getting killed by AMD's Opteron.
