What's the typical percentage down payment on house mortgage loans in China? What's the price of gasoline? In US, retail fuel prices include federal and state taxes which is used for highway and road improvement and maintenance. Is it the same in China? Do you pay tax on any purchase, and how much? Or, is the tax already included in the price of the item (value added tax)? Hotels in China charges tax to both locals and foreigners. In US the sales tax varies from 0 to 8.5% that goes to state and local governments.
