Bubba, dentist treat the channel. Root is still good. Put a crown. Because all professions are conspiracies against the layman, I ask lots of questions to dentists and docs.

If I get the feeling this guy can be trusted, then I have them treat me. My dentist in Bangkok is like that. I got an infection and a lot of bone loss (pre-molar tooth). All dentists I had been before told me it was condemned.

She told me she could save it. Another dentist treat the channel June last year. She cut a piece of tissue from the palate (September last year) sew it around the tooth to make up for the gum that had receded. Let it heal. Made an X-ray, November last year. The bone -after the infection had recovered but not enough.

December 28th last year, she got bone powder, inserted around the teeth, close it. After two months she checked it out. It was healing real good. May 23rd, she X-ray and the bone had calcified around the tooth. Still not consistent bone and told me to wait four months. Lower jaw bone is strong since it moves and hangs by itself.

Now the bone is calcified and next month she will put a crown on it.

Probem it took a year to complete the treatment and I was like to be here in South East Asia.

Of course they do, although I think you have to speak Chinese or bring your own translators for your own safety. As for the price, I am not sure. I will have to check, although I think it should be the same.

I agree most of US dentists have a unique way to keep themselves to be employed<g> I have plenty of personal experience too. China also has some such doctors, but much less. And also some specialty hospitals give you a very clear itemized bill (very cheap comparing with the US) and they will ask you to make your own decision to use what type of materials, from the least expensive to the most expensive.

Dentistry is hands-on profession, meaning the more you practice the more skillful you are. Usually a young Chinese dentist is more skillful than an older US dentist simply because they treat hundreds of times more patients in a year. plus they are younger, so they are quicker.
