When I start my computer Zone Alarm alerted me that dpnet.exe is trying to access the internet. The request comes up when I start my computer and also when doing a search in Google. Any idea as to what that is and is it safe?

A search on my computer shows the following:
DPNET.EXE-17B08761.pf located in C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch
There is also a DPNET application located in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

I have the free version. It did detect the virus - warned me that the computer was infected and that I should run the program and delete the files. I just was under the impression that the virus software stops the virus from getting into your system, not just detecting it.
