Actually, I think they announced it when they did to minimize the news coverage: On Friday, a tradtional slow news day with coverage in Saturday papers, and on a day when they knew the coverage would be on the funeral and burial. Same mindset that Rush used to announce his status as a three time loser.

I think it was BIZARRE anyhow for Kerry to even think McCain would tie his star to him. Shows how OUT OF TOUCH Kerry is. jdn
