I'm no expert but so far I like Pest Patrol over every other program in the security field. I have deleted every single thing it found and had no problem. I'm pretty cautious about downloading stuff. I sometimes take off ZAP because it slows down the Ameritrade streamer. Whenever I do that, I do a total Pest Patrol scan. Otherwise, I have the program on monitoring, particularly the key patrol and memory components.

The only thing I took off was the option to do a total scan every time I boot up. It was slowing down the 'puter and I'd rather do the total scan when I feel like it.

I always leave on NAV and MSFT firewall, fwiw.

I've heard good things about PestPatrol but I haven't sprung for it as of yet.

rrufff and Gottfried (and I believe thecow) would be better sources of info on PP.
