My understanding is that most of the mass grave victims were uprising-related. But I have not researched the matter much, and I doubt anybody outside Iraq really knows many of the details. I have not heard of any systematic attempt to document the mass graves, interview victims, etc. like in the Balkans, where this activity was extremely high profile.
