Same old (or same young) Maurice.

I don't even know how to respond to you telecosmic vision.

But I can say thank you for Skype. I have looked at it and will follow up on it as soon as I can get my other son over here (he lives near by and is a computer expert) to evaluate it and help me get it installed and up and running.

Wish I had your imaginative vision. I'm still locked in the age of Gutenberg.

<<<But, I think the effect will be the biggest thing that has happened not just since the printing press and not just since the invention of the wheel. I'm thinking more impact than all inventions combined since the invention of fire. Not to exaggerate the impact, this is an existential shift greater than the development of sexual reproduction and I'd say equivalent to the original creation of DNA. >>>

Unknown effect, but certainly pervasive.

Countries like those in Africa with little or no technology will more or less vanish from the record books, appear to be uninhabited.Driven deeper into the past.

Everything you write here gets stored away.
All Senate voting records, geneologies, photos of significant events. Surveys, censuses, polls, newpaper articles and TV programs. IRS records. Terrorist phone calls.
All stored away on terabit memory ready for instant access.

Search engines will find the significant data, and then re-record in other storage sites. MIcrosoft, with its many changes and new programs, sets up many facilities closer to the users to expedite downloads.

KIds are using 120gb drives to store games and music.
Perhaps videos. Take photos with a digital camera, store pictures on home computer.

We will suffer from an information overload.
They will have to provide vacation getaways without phones or wireless or TV or computers. IA clubs( information anonymous)will become popular.

I just want to know which company is going to profit most by building all the storage required.Or builds the best search engine.
