There ARE Islamic teenagers in the United States who at least CLAIM they would consider carrying out a suicide bombing in the United States. I cannot believe YOU don't remember this 60 minutes episode as I specifically remember a series of exchanges about it with you on this thread. I don't recall whether you saw it or we just discussed it. I do remember it now. As an aside......last semester, I met this guy at school that was half Saudi, half American. He moved from SA when he was 12. I was very surprised at how ambivalent he was towards the US. I think partly its because he's fairly young but he also made it very clear that our image outside this country, particularly in the ME among the Arabs, is very negative. Remember, he came to this country well before 9/11 and the current Iraq war. The irony is that at one point his father was thrown into a Saudi jail and accused of selling state secrets. And yet he's thinking of going back there. When I pushed him on his dislike of the US, his response was that Americans need to get a better handle on what our gov't is doing overseas which, of course, was no surprise to me. It was a very unsettling conversation; however I will be surprised if he picks SA over the US.At any rate, I've never lied in this thread and that sorry POS who accused me isn't worth my time. And you called him stupid. Tom is anything but stupid. So you're even. As for that 60 minutes episode, I think its important to remember they were kids. Kids have a tendency to talk a big game. I suspect most of those kids have moved on. I think the takeaway is to realize that there is anger in the Muslim community in the US and that the kids are picking up on it. We should be concerned because these kids could grow up to be terrorists.......and then we will live with the kind of fear the Europeans do.
