enforcement of the nation's sexual harassment laws
"has nothing to do with the nation"?

The law in question was the "Violence Against Women
Act of 1994" which was passed by the Democrat-controlled
Congress and signed by Clinton.

This law enabled plaintiffs in sexual harassment lawsuits
to pry into the sexual history of defendants in open court.

Why no complaint from Democrats about this law
until it was used against Clinton?
Because it was a tool used by trial lawyers to
intimidate and shake down executives in the private
sector to make out-of-court settlements.

But hen the right wingers blinked.

Not really. As you may recall from your citizenship review course, it takes a 2/3 Senate vote to convict after a House vote to impeach.

On Article I:

67 votes were needed.

45 Republicans voted to convict.

10 Republicans voted not to convict.

No Democrats voted to convict (now there's a partisan statement).

On Article II:

67 votes were needed.

50 Republicans voted to convict.

5 Republicans voted not to convict.

No Democrats voted to convict (now there's a partisan statement).

Votes weren't there, regardless of the 10 Republican "no" votes.

No one blinked Chinu. Clinton lucked out.

Good thing he's made a bundle writing books and speaking, cause he isn't gonna be practicing law anytime soon. Disbarred by both Arkansas and the U.S. Supreme Court.

They knew very well that the nation did not care about Clinton's lies since it was between his wife and Celsea. It had nothing to do with the nation

Actually, it was between he and the employee/s he molested. I'm glad it's now okay to lie in court about such matters, that is, if you're married. I mean, what good's a female employee if she can't give you hummers on the company clock...

"Hence it was political not anything to do with legal such as "lying to a judge.""

Your post I responded to said all I need to know about you. Lying doesn't matter. What Clinton did was fine, because lying doesn't matter. And it is ok for you to lie about our President for political purposes, because lying doesn't matter. Unfortunately there are too many dems with your views. Oh well.
