The Tet Offensive was a massive defeat for the VietCong, but the fact that they were able to penetrate the perimeter of our Embassy made it appear that they were invincible. That aspect was played up in the media, despite the fact that the Tet Offensive resulted in a resounding defeat for the enemy and an overwhelming victory for our military. Admittedly, once the news media manipulated the facts in that way, it raised more public outcry against the war and the rest, as they say, is History. Our military was not defeated but the media & war protesters defeated the Pentagon. The public was duped by the media because they never reported the devastating Tet offensive defeat of the VietCong. Today's news outlets are playing their same deceitful games with Iraq coverage. We really need to find better sources of information than these fiction writers who like to call themselves journalists.
