Sky's No Limit

I was at Yuma attending an SF Desert Rats reunion when GHWB made his jump there.

Why Yuma? The SF HALO School (High Altitude Low Opening Parachute) school is there.
Bush used the SF Drop Zone. But The Army's Golden Knight Parachute Team trained him, ran the DZ that day, jumped with him, and assisted him as he landed.

I am not surprised he opted for the fifth jump. Upon completing five successful jumps, former President Bush will have completed the requirements for and be awarded the silver wings of a US Army Paratrooper. Officially the award is called the "Parachutist Badge".
Those little silver wings (made famous by Barry Sadler) are a prized possession of all who have earned them.

Talking about reunions, the Annual SF Convention begins a week from Monday. We are leaving tomorrow to do some hiking in Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole on the way down to Las Vegas to attend. I hope to re-enact the Trout breakfast and hike we took on Elk Island on Jackson Lake. The picture on the cover of my book was taken from that island by another fisherman traveling with us that day about 4 or 5 years ago..

I'll be scarce for a couple weeks. Ya'll be good, and if you're not, don't get caught.
