Isn't the issue regarding human embryos at this point one in which they already exist in massive quantities and will be destroyed one way or another? Why not use them to further our understanding of the human genome and possibly find cures for some of our worst ailments and relieve human suffering? I don't know, but it seems to me that since the embryos are going to be destroyed anyway, the moral thing to do would be to use them to help mankind solve some of our problems with disease.

Since the embryos are going to be destoyed one way or another, what exactly is the conservative rational for not using them to help mankind in the process?
