It's really not a problem exclusive to either the Republican or Democratic party. Both parties have trouble telling the truth. The Democrats lied through their teeth during the Viet Nam era and again during Clinton's term.

Jimmy Carter is probably the only honest president we've had in the last 40 years. Johnson, Nixon, Ford?, Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. all have lied as a usual part of performing their job as President.

I do have to add one caveat. Although 7 out of 8 of the last presidents have been more or less blatant or pathological liars. George W. Bush has got to take the cake as far as I'm concerned. Sure Clinton had trouble telling the truth, but his lies were rather minor in the grand scheme of things. George W. tells serious lies, lies that lead to war and death and that sort of thing.

Like I said, I have trouble believing anything coming out of Washington, DC these days from either party. They have no credibility any more. Why people continue to believe them, just proves a major human flaw that people will continue to believe lies as long as they think the ends justify the means.
