I think a lot of Republicans are looking at this Presidential election through rose colored glasses. The historical charts are looking very bad for Bush at this point. An approval rating in the mid to low 40s, a challenger even to slightly ahead, and a lot of swing states where the challenger is slightly ahead or even, plus the fact that 80%-85% of undecideds vote for the challenger, all spell doom for Bush this fall.

Bush is going to have to pull a rabbit or two out of a hat to win this fall. I doubt he can pull it off, although the Republicans won't go down without a fight, perhaps they'll "find" Osama Bin Laden just a few days before the election?!? The tea leaves are definitely saying Bush loses this fall. In fact, if Kerry is smart in chosing a running mate and putting together a coherent campaign message, it might wind up being somewhat of a blowout in November. Kerry 52%, Bush 45%, Nader 2%, Others 1%. Kerry 350+ in the electoral college. The way the winds are currently blowing, that's what I see happening this fall.
