From what I read here on these boards, the folks that support Bush aren't that happy with him. They're going to hold their noses when they vote for him.

They know that he's a spender. They can see that tax relief for the wealthy has mortgaged future generations and put Social Security in jeopardy. They're not too sure that pre-emptive action was wise in Iraq. But like Lemmings going off the cliff they'll line up, hold their nose, and jump off.

we already have a reenergized democratic party that is blocking a lot of the Bush initiatives (overtime for example) because they are tuned in to the discontent out there. So if Bush wins again (and I don't think he will)- he will not get the free ride he had in 02/03 that caused all this damage.

One really encouraging thing that I have seen lately is the fiscal conservatives standing up against the neocons publicly. Of course its a little too late now that the entire treasury has been looted. But at least the vocal opposition to neocon policies is happening.
