They are afraid to get involved just as Americans are afraid to get involved. Well, the guy died because he looked "Western." Of course he did.......al Qa'ida killed him for that very reason so guys like you will get real pssed off and demand that we attack another Muslim country. That insures that al Qa'ida's current recruiting and fundraising bonanza due to the Iraqi war will continue well into the future. He didn't die for any other reason. That is why the muslim interviewed in the article we are discussing said he avoids Westerners. This guy is profiling, pure and simple. And it is valid. He knows that the war is essentially about islam versus the civilized world and to preserve his life he is profiling everyone who looks civilized whether they are or not. That is reasonable and it is the basis of the current war. Everyone is lying about this but the muslims. And Americans are profiling Muslims in this country. Recently, an OR attorney who is Anglo but who converted to Islam was arrested on false charges. The FBI asserted that his fingerprints matched those found on bomb paraphernalia in Madrid even though the Spaniards insisted that they were not a match. You don't think profiling had something to with that arrest? In this country, non Anglo Muslims are getting attacked and beaten up everyday.........you don't think profiling has anything to do with it? When I am on a plane and there is a Muslim looking person on the flight, you don't think I watch the guy every minute of that flight? You don't think profiling has something to do with it? Keep getting pssed off at the Muslims.......its exactly what OBL wants you to do. The terrorists have weapons......people can get killed. Its human nature to be afraid in a situation like that whether you are Muslim or American but of course, you interpret in the worst possible way. I interpret it in the way it essentially works. The people were all standing around, looking on, very near. The victim could actually talk with them. They were already there on the scene and did nothing. The victims could not blend in and become one of them, purely because they did not look muslim. This is the essential basis of the conflict. It is a cultural/religious war in which everyone knows the truth, but only one side is acknowledging it. That is why 800 Americans are dead in Iraq and while tens of thousands of others are dead across the world. Either the West will be force to the truth, or it will be savaged. The choice will be made. Oh my God, we are in Iraq fighting Muslims who were not responsible for 9/11. What truth is not being acknowledged by us in this war? And why are Americans still in SA? The State Dep't has been saying for months now for all Americans to leave SA. I don't think they were Americans. I think they were British. Their country didn't matter here, pal. They were westerners, likely white, but whether white or not, they clearly were not muslim-looking. And they died for it. In the past week, two Americans have been killed and one kidnapped. If they can't find Americans. a Brit or German will do. So what? And of course you have forgotten how the Iraqis helped save Jessica Lynch. Didn't forget it. My position never has been that all muslims are murderous. Undoubtedly some are not. My position is that so relative few muslims are willing to stand against the murderers amidst them, indeed they largely even harbor them and cheer for them, that it is impossible to know the good from the bad. Did it ever occur to you that Muslims don't stand up because it has been traditionally dangerous in Muslim society to stand up in defense of someone else? For centuries, these people have lived under dictatorial theocracies or just plain tyrants. With gov'ts like that, you learn to mind your own business and keep your mouth shut. Its one of the reasons why I think democracy will have a hard time taking hold in Iraq. Sir, with all due respect, its already exploding. Iraq has opened a pandora's box. Well you have no respect due you at all because you have apparently forgotten the 3000 friggin' innocent people murdered by muslims long before Iraq. You have forgotten the many tens of thousands murdered long before Bush was even considered for president. They were al Qa'ida, religous fundamentalist ideologues. You, yourself, just admitted that not all Muslims are bad. So you go after the ones responsible for 9/11.......al Qa'ida, not Saddam and the rest of the Muslim world. I personally got hit by these savages, both at my home and near my home in Virginia and you folks are treating it as if its Bush's fault when the muslims are clearly responsible. Hit? I don't understand. You got into a fight with Muslims? The Pandora's Box was opened a long time ago. You just are lying to yourself, just as I was lying prior to 911. Well, now I am no longer willing to lie. I see clearly that the war is already on and it is a matter of the islam warring against the West. We will acknowledge this sooner or later -whether we wish to do it or not. OBL sings your praises......that's exactly what he wants you to think. That's how evil works......and you're falling for it hook, line and sinker. Many said that would happen before the war......it is now a fait accompli. What a twit. It was happening before the war. You were just intentionally blind to it. You are still intentionally blind to it. Even 3000 murdered people wasn' enough to open your eyes. Then die. No, I was not blind to it. How can I be blind to it? 9/11 did not happen in some other country. I understand exactly what's happening. I also know that your paranoia has put you over the top. And you can't will someone to die. Are you nuts? Things will get worse before they get better. 3000 murdered, and you are talking about things getting worse. Yes. This is not top secret stuff and it does happen from time to time. I know you've heard about such incidents.........we all have. I have not heard anything like this. I have heard of people screaming for help while others hurried away in fear. But I have never heard of two guys getting savaged and murdered while people stood right nearby and watched as one pleaded to them for help in the name of their religion. If you find that, then the basis of the isolation will be the true basis of this war. Find it. I am very curious to see if I am right. Please do this research for me. I don't have to do the research........its been done in every culture in every nation in every century that we have been on this planet. The most notorious example was the Germans watching as the Jews were taken away. The Jews were beaten and killed right before their eyes. They were taken away in droves. Why didn't the German soldiers try to stop the torture and killings that went on in the concentration camps? Why did American soldiers stand by and watch the Iraqis get beaten, humiliated and tortured? Why did the Jews stand there and let Jesus get crucified? Bank robbers have robbed American banks....killed the bank security guards or the tellers and the customers in the banks do nothing. Frankly, you are not making any sense. I saw an illegal get beat up by the cops in broad daylight. There were 4 cops to one small guy. No one interceded but me........and I was told to back off or I would go to jail. It happens more than we like to think it happens. Oh please. The cops may have been doing their job. The guy may have been resisting. Besides, you're a friggin' leftist. No dang body can trust you here. It was 4 to one. They were beating the $H*t out of him. He was terrified. That too goes on in this country all the time. We are not as civilized as you would like. Deal with it!
