You are simply proving Nadine's point or misreading it. Or simply being bloody-minded again. I prefer the latter explanation.

Nadine specifically said that neither Russia nor France felt any threat to their trade with the US as a result of taking a position against us on Iraq. The US position on Iraq of course threatened their lucrative trade relationship with Saddam.

Nadine's point I think is correct and not too difficult to understand.

But I could be wrong.
