Do you think the 200 billion dollars spent so far to further the position of oil companies in retaining their power and money was well spent?
No other uses for it you can think of?
Would 200 billion dollars have gone a long way toward (if not completely) developing and commercializing a competing source of energy?
The "sinister plot" was the subversion of "macroeconomic forces inherent in capitalism" by ensuring that 200 billion dollars of capital went toward an attempt to preserve oil's position.
Let's see...spend 200 billion to control oil so the price can stay cheap enough to fend off competition or spend 200 billion to create competition?
Given a US administration loaded with people from the oil industry, competition, the mainstay of free enterprise and capitalism, was not an option.
Nor will it be an option while this administration remains.
November can't come soon enough.
