The statement I made is a question of semantics. Bush may not be "winning" the war but he is not making any "progress". The two words belong to the same class of objects with time being a common attribute. One being a proclamation of finality and another a measure of how far away the situation is from finality.

In Bush's case he is going in the reverse direction.

A Kerry Presidency would bring the Iraqi situation to final conclusion totally different from what is going on now. Today we have news that the American hostage captured in SA could be beheaded by his captors.

What frightens me most is that with Bush continuing in power the war is going to spread with more attacks on Americans.

I will only vote for Bush if you can show me one Arab country that is truly democratic. Bush does not understand the psyche of an Arab and hence his embarking on establishing democracy in a Arab country such as Iraq is bound to be a failure.
