you are preaching to the chior but I can't do too much about existing tax breaks... however as far as *increasing* fica is concerned, I am not for it. Roll back some tax cut somewhere to get the money for that 1.8% increase in fica imho

Problem is half the people don't pay any federal taxes and could care less about how much money the goverment wastes. If the tax load was spread fairly over everyone then there would be more accountablity in spending.

Our goverment is pretty much worthless when it comes to getting anything done except killing people in a war. It's just some huge make work project.

Fica is the only federal tax that is fair and that is because everyone pays it.
