Democratic governments are still just dictatorships.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

While democracies and republics are imperfect (the worst form of government, except for every other kind), at least they are reasonably accountable to an electorate for their actions.

And thus, if such a government elects to wage war, the people have the right to either support it, or throw it out of office.

Which is, right here in the US, the question that is being presented to the American electorate.

And the same goes for any debts accumulated by said elected government. The people can always elect someone who will nullify those loans.. And it will be the people who will know who to blame for any repercussions from such an act.
