McCain cannot stand Bush. He occasionally campaigns for him a little just to stay in the GOP. He recently called Bush "corrupt" on Meet The Press or some such show, and gave him a C-. That's hardly "support". Back in 2000, Bush's political hitmen tried to spread a rumor that McCain had ratted out the US in Vietnamese prison camp and was insane from the torture. Bush has stabbed McCain in the back repeatedly. McCain is playing it cool so he can be in a position to take over the GOP when Bush falls. McCain has voted just as often with Kerry as he has with Bush. He and Kerry are very close friends and trust each other deeply. McCain came to Kerry's defense several times when the rightwing attacked him for being weak on defense or a traitor.
