There's no end to the specialized instructions one could add. Something I wished for at one time was finite field arithmetic (used in error correction and cryptography). Or how about 128-bit floating point? Some people would love that. Oh, and stochastic rounding (good for audio).

If Intel adds it, it's an instant standard. If AMD adds it, it's just an oddity (though AMD64 was a major exception to this rule).
