I guess the question then is "is Intel gaining market share in a growing market or in something that others are trying to avoid".

I guess we will learn more about both Intel and AMD market success in mid July.

How could rising Intel motherboard share result in higher Intel chipset inventories? Since 100% of Intel's motherboards need to have Intel chipsets and only 2/3 of competitive motherboards require Intel chipsets, an increase in Intel's motherboard market share would result in a shortage of Intel chipsets, not a surplus.

PS - What happened to Digitimes? Did they lose their domain name?

AMD is a company with 1/8 the revenues of INTC, but in the most recent 6 months, AMD's revneues grew by $25M more than did INTC's...Yep, those rising chipset inventories definitiely signal a sea change, not!
