croc-

It's very weird and rather horrible that the things
have come to a point at which it actually makes any
difference to "the rest of us" who ends up being your
next president. IMO, that's rather sad as it shouldn't
actually matter.

no. the world SHOULD care.
it DOES care and it always has... and that is great.
world opinion and world caring helps a lot.

the world cared when botha was president of south
africa. we spoke out about it and we rejoiced when
he stepped down and handed the government over to
the people of south africa with nelson mandela as
their leader.

...many other examples, but the point is the same.

this world belongs to no country, it belongs
to all countries and all people. humanity is
growing up, technology is such that all people
can be educated and informed about each other.
it's easier than ever before to move together
on common visions like human rights, global
health issues, and the sharing of resources
and skills.

wars are criminal acts outside of the law.
the world will not and SHOULD not tolerate
actions outside of the system of law EVER again.

all countries and people must join in and
support the development of international laws
based on the common needs and rights of
the planet and it's living creatures.
multilateral enforcement, prosecution,
judgement and disposition must replace
unilateral action by any country, band
of terrorists, or individuals.

it's a pretty simple solution but it requires
letting go of something that some are not willing to
give up yet... an unbalanced, overabundant amount of
power and wealth. eventually the poor and the
disempowered will rise... they always do... and...

we'll sure be glad when it's over, eh?
