It's not even an issue of Gore moving from the center. He's a ranting lunatic, and you would have had him as our President. Of course, he'd be up for re-election, yet after ripping the nation apart and going all the way to the Supreme Court, you guys didn't even re-nominate him or his VP candidate, even though they won the popular vote. I wonder why Gore didn't have the red Indian war paint on his face again, like he did during the debate, while he railed against Bush recently.
