And sentiment is far from negative

Count the number of posts to SI in a day now versus 1998. And I cannot recall the last time I heard a conversation about the stock market, in the checkout line or at a party.

It is overly positive except for the extremely high total put to call readings.

Isn't this one of the most important indicators there is? This is what people are actually doing with their money.
