I'm not convinced that Gore necessarily moved from the center. I suspect he just became more
upfront about his actual POV.

As for Gore's motivations, I think he was more driven by
his personal need to reclaim center stage than being
off-put by Bush. I regarded the Dean endorsement as a
grandstand play for attention and an attempted power grab within the Democratic party.

Gore's actions since 2000 have been animated by emotionalism
and this was no different, imo.

And yes, we agree, Gore was and is a loser.

The fact that his fellow Dems did not get behind him
in a draft movement this time suggests to me that all
the extraordinary angst displayed by his supporters
after the events in 2000 was just a bunch of smoke.

I still think that situation was unique and that
your generalized loser analogy as an explanation
doesn't necessarily wash. There's just something fundamentally wrong about Gore...........

When Nixon lost he gave his "Checkers speech". No one likes a loser, and Gore acted like a loser, not unlike Nixon once upon a time...
But who would have thought that Nixon could become the phoenix rising from the ashes?

Tell us all, Orky, what race Nixon lost when he gave his "Checkers speech."

Tell us all, Orky, when and how Nixon acted like a loser.

And please tell us all, Orky, how the above "historical facts" that you just recited relate to Nixon becoming "the phoenix rising from the ashes".

Tell us all, Orky, what the $@#*%# you're talking about.
