The security breaches weren't really breaches since at that time the weapons they used were all legal to bring aboard. Fighters at Langly AFB needed 20 minutes to get to DC and they would have only been able to shoot down the last plane which crashed anyways. The FBI refused to follow up on Moussaui and the CIA refused to share Malaysian meeting info with the FBI. Also the FBI was unable to locate people in this country using their own names over a month period and they didn't beg the U.S. citizens to identify them by begging once again on TV for information. They were too proud for that. The CIA and FBI couldn't communicate because of a Clinton Era Deputy Attorney General who put up an unncecessary wall because she was a politician and not a good lawyer.
