croc- one of the nice things the east has over the west, is history and 'old' stuff like heritage buildings and towns; and, like the locks, for example. beautifully maintained reminders of early simpler times. your talk of forges and blacksmiths reminds me of lunenburg, n.s. its a remarkable place. the west is relatively new in comparison although some may argue <s> we collected a lot of old canadiana pieces over 35 years ago in toronto and cobourg from decoys to oil lamps to furniture and still have every single piece ... it was all affordable then. i love all that stuff. -rose
