That's a special case. The only place in the US that has legalized prostitution is in Nevada [and not all of Nevada].

It hurts the law-abiding motorist who will eventually be rammed. So there is harm done. So it is a poor example to compare to prostitution and drugs.

I don't agree that it's a poor example at all. There is no harm done by running a red light. Conceptually, I can "responsibly" run red lights and never cause an accident. And there is a parallel that laws against running red lights haven't stopped people from running red lights. The damage is done when there is an accident. It further parallels your argument in that accidents occur for other reasons than running a red light or running a stop sign. An "accident" can occur because of road rage. Laws on traffic signals don't prevent that.....you might lose control of your vehicle because the truck in front of you drops a load of ball bearings immediately and without warning. Traffic laws don't prevent that. You argue that outlawing guns won't prevent all murders. I offer the parallel that running stop signs won't prevent all accidents.

It's an unusual parallel, but it logically works.
