Yes I take xanax when I fly. Basically it results in things that would normally cause a great deal of anxiety not doing so.

If you are the potus, news that a plane has struck one of the twin towers can be expected to cause a great deal of anxiety, possibly the most of your life. The Smirking Chimp, on the other hand, was calm and serene, much as I am when I fly and we encounter heavy turbulence.

Given the Smirking Chimp's lack of experience in high-anxiety situations such as warfare, he could not be expected to remain so serene absence the presence of drugs.
